FAQs

  • With the utmost care! We separate lights and darks, wash and dry everything delicately, and your laundry will be returned tightly folded to save you time. We don’t use any additional scents, perfumes, or bleach.

    We also use Ozone Washing Technology to ensure your laundry is cleaned, sanitized, and softened to the highest degree! There are no chemicals involved in this process - oxygen molecules are pumped into our water system when your machine is turned on, and this yields amazing results that you can’t find anywhere else!

  • If you don’t live near one of our three pickup/delivery zones, we’ll come straight to you! We offer personal pickups Monday-Wednesday 6-9pm and deliveries M-Th 6-9pm.

    When you want a pickup, fill out the pickup request form by 4pm on the day-of when you want a pickup. Our driver will reach out to you during our 6-9pm window to coordinate. If you are only available at certain times, please note on the pickup request form. Our drivers are happy to work around your schedule!

    For deliveries: our driver will reach out to you the next evening around the same time to coordinate a delivery! No need to fill out the pickup request form. If your clean laundry is on board, our driver will call you!

  • All monthly plans are billed in 4 week cycles, and you will only have overage charges if you exceed your total weight allowance for the month. Overages are charged at the pay-as-you-go rate, which is $2.39/Lb

    For example: If you have a 20lb/week plan, you have 80Lbs to give us over 4 weeks without any overage charges. You can give us two 40Lb bags, four 20Lb bags, one 80Lb bag, etc…same price!

  • Unused pounds carry over to the following week, then expire at the end of your 4 week billing cycle.

  • The exact same process as laundry! Only difference is that it takes three days.

    After you sign up for a dry cleaning plan, we will provide a purple Soapy Joe’s bag and laminated name tag for special items. Just place your items in the bag - no hangers - and arrange a pickup as you normally would (either at our pickup zones or by scheduling an off-campus pickup via the request form).

  • Monthly plans automatically renew every 4 weeks. Pay-As-You-Go plans, dry cleaning, and overages are charged at the end of each 4-week billing cycle. You will receive an invoice for each charge.

    All customers are required to have a valid card-on-file. We reserve the right to refuse service if you do not have a credit card on file.

  • After you sign up for a plan, we provide a big blue Soapy Joe’s laundry bag and laminated. Upon your first pickup, you can bring your laundry straight to our van and put your clothes in your new bag.

  • We do not operate over Winter, Spring, and Summer breaks, plus major holidays. All plans will be paused during breaks, and then resume when school is back in session.

  • Your clean laundry will remain in our van until you want to pick it up!

  • USC Hotel residents can sign up for a plan, submit a pickup request form, and leave your laundry with the front desk by 5pm any day M-W. We will pick it up from the front desk and leave your clean laundry with them the following evening.

    We are temporarily accommodating pickups at the Moxy and JW Marriott on Wednesdays only. JW Marriott students can submit a pickup request and leave their laundry with the bell desk (NOT the front desk) before 5pm on Wednesdays. Same for the Moxy, but leave your laundry with the front desk. Deliveries will be made Thursday after 9pm.

  • This rarely happens at Soapy Joe’s, but once in a blue moon, mistakes do happen! We will first try to locate or repair the item. If an item is lost or damaged due to an error on our side, we will reimburse you for the value of the item.
